Michelle Ewert Earns CPESC

Michelle Ewert from our Environmental Division has received her Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) designation from the Soil and Water Conservation Society and the International Erosion Control Association.

To gain this certification, Ewert had to pass a written exam to determine her proficiency in the principals, practices, and legislation of erosion and sediment control. Many states and municipalities recognize the CPESC certification and require a qualified representative during construction projects to be responsible for the design of erosion control measures that will be used at each site. This is especially important today as Federal environmental guidelines such as the EPA's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II regulations require erosion and sediment control measures for all construction projects disturbing one acre or more.

With Ewert's certification, our firm may now assist on projects by navigating the permitting process, designing erosion and sediment control and stormwater management plans that comply with regulations, and helping to ensure that these plans are effectively implemented.
